CHANGE – A FRIEND OR AN ENEMY

 

According to the oxford dictionary, “change” can be defined as the difference of somebody or something, it means to make a difference, it means to exchange what you have for what you don’t have, it means to replace something or somebody with another thing. But in this case it means to make a difference.

The word change means transformation in most cases, but for you what does the word “change” mean to you, to some it might mean just some kind of balance you get after paying for something you bought. Change inspires and scares but in different situations, change is evidence of life, it is very impossible to grow in this world from a fetus or from a zygote to a man without change. Herbert Spencer once said that, “a living thing is distinguish from a dead thing by the multiplicity of the changes at any moment taking place in it”.

Without change you will always remain a local stuff, without you going through the changes in life you will always be useless in life. Someone who does not admit to his or her mistakes or learn from her errors is worse than a fool. Let just take an example just like the crude oil or gemstones we see around, crude oil is a black thick liquid gotten from the ground which its usefulness can be actualize only when it under goes change. If you are given 20 litres of crude oil in its raw state, can you use it for cooking, driving and other important things which need petroleum? No because it has not been processed. Now you believe or concur with me that except crude oil is changed from its raw state to product like, fuel, gasoline, bitumen used in road construction etc. Crude oil is useless, despite it’s price worth in the market, likewise gold, diamond and other important resources.

John Patterson once said, “Only fools and dead men don’t change their mind. Fools don’t, Dead men can’t”. So when you lock up and, See every things you do as the right thing two things are bound to be true, it is either you are a fool or you are dead, a fool can always be wise only when he or she is willing to accept change. You cannot become what you are destined by remaining what you are. Do not fear changes rather embrace it with open arms.

If many refused to embrace the period of civilization, there still would have been slavery and many adult will still be running around naked. And who knows, women would have still remain so locked up in kitchen chores. When a man defends his errors and mistakes it just means, that he has no plans of quitting them and that ain’t right. Change is inevitable but you still can obstruct yourself from changing to the better.

You should learn to keep welcoming new ideals, do not always seek to use the previous ways, the diabolical way of doing things, and embrace the time you are into. Do not remain static, been static means not growing, not progressing and deviating from success. The road to success is always under construction and things change along the way, don’t give up because you are not use to the environment. Keep pressing forward because you have an ambition to realize, you have a target to achieve and you have eyes looking at you, legs praying to and following your footsteps and heart praying for your success and failure, prove the wrong ones wrong and prove the right ones right and never give up.

Change is not your enemy rather change is a friend; treat your friend with kindness.
