DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING SMART AND BEING INTELLIGENT.
*****************************************************************************
A biology teacher ones asked her student a question in class”
she asked, where
can the pituitary gland be found, a brilliant
student (john) attempted the question
JOHN: the head or the brain, and
controls the whole part of the body hormones. (He was applauded)
Now the teacher asked another
question,” where can the thyroid and the parathyroid gland be found, a student Henry
answered the question
HENRY: the thyroid and
the parathyroid gland can be found in the neck region, and it is concerned
with the Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR),
which is the amount of energy the body uses.
Now let’s look at the two questions
and their answers, but of them are brilliant and intelligent but one of them is
smarter than the other with no doubt. Being intelligent is all about knowing the
solution to the problem being faced at the moment, the ability to acquire and
apply knowledge and skills. It can be developed so easily, but being smart is
knowing the solution to the problem and also knowing how to present it to give
and suit the particular problem being faced. If you were the teacher in the
class amongst the two students which one will you give more mark for the answers
they presented, you see it will be Henry. An intelligent student can answer all
the question in the class but that does not mean he knows it all.
Then in school there are times when we could read
all our books and at the end you still
get a low pass and someone may be that you helped scored a higher then you get
pissed off and swear not to help him again in the coming test. what you do not understand
is that he was quite smarter than you are. Smartness make use of the
opportunity and makes it golden, he did not read his books but was in class and
needed a tip for remembrance and you gave yours and he arranged it in such a
way that it was so presentable to your teacher. That’s the fact. Smart people
do a lot of things, now let’s look at somethings smart people do
ü They
don’t heavily rely on others
ü ’They
don’t act irresponsibly,
ü They
don’t feel defeated just because they need to reevaluate their convictions.
ü They
don’t dwell on their errors
ü They
don’t permit their past to hold them back
ü They
don’t rely on good luck to solve their problems
ü They
don’t neglect important aspects of their business
ü They
don’t hesitate to learn from their mistakes
ü They
don’t give up on their ideas just because other people don’t agree with them
ü They
don’t make strong remarks that can make them look weak in the future
ü They
don’t lose the opportunity to broaden their experience
ü They
don’t know how to back off from a good cause
ü They
don’t overestimate their abilities
ü They
don’t make redundant enemies
ü They
don’t allow their pride to get in the way
ü They
don’t put all the eggs in one basket
ü They
don’t lie to themselves that everything will be easy
ü They
don’t take unnecessary risks
So the difference is the understanding and the arrangement And that is why they are smart.
Be smart! Be wise!!
